Self-Leadership Changes Everything

Reading: 2 Timothy 1:6-7 - For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.

Devotional: Paul reminds Timothy to "fan into flame" the gift of God, emphasizing personal responsibility in spiritual growth. God gives us power, love, and self-discipline—but we must activate these gifts through self-leadership. David demonstrated this when he rebuked his men and refused to harm Saul, taking ownership of the situation despite external pressure. Self-leadership means being controlled, present, and intentional—showing up as who you need to be for the people who need you most. When this is off, everything else crumbles. But when you lead yourself well, you become a source of transformation for your entire family. The change you want to see in your home begins with the change you're willing to make in yourself. God can use your decision to take responsibility as the catalyst for generational impact.

Reflection: In what area of your life do you need to exercise greater self-discipline and leadership? How might your growth in this area transform your family?
