Domino Effect 3-22-26

This message centers on one of the most penetrating questions Jesus ever asked: 'What do you want?' Drawing from John chapter 1, we encounter the story of Andrew and Simon Peter meeting Jesus for the first time. What makes this narrative so compelling is how it reveals the tension we all experience between surface-level desires and deeper spiritual callings. The disciples initially stumbled over their words, asking Jesus where he was staying rather than articulating what they truly wanted. We often do the same, missing moments of spiritual significance because we're unprepared or distracted by lesser things. The sermon challenges us to honestly examine our hearts and write down our answer to Jesus's question. What do we really want? A promotion? Peace? Understanding? To be heard? This isn't about judging our desires but recognizing that what we want reveals what we're working toward or avoiding. The beauty unfolds as we see Andrew's immediate response after meeting Jesus: he brought his brother Peter to Christ. This introduces us to the domino effect of faith, where one person's encounter with Jesus cascades into countless others. We learn that some of us are called to plant seeds, others to water them, but God makes them grow. The tension we feel isn't always about changing circumstances ourselves but about faithfully doing our part in God's larger work.
